Community service

Eden Genet Church in Addis Ababa, the  apostolic base in Ethiopia, has initiated a church plant in Dukem, a town of about 20,000 on the main road from the port of Djibouti.  It is an overnight truck-stop with a history of some resistance to the Gospel.

The leadership team in Dukem is led by Pastor Mieraf Kebede.  Property has been LEASED and a meeting hall has been constructed.

On March 11-13 an outreach conference was held at the new facility in Dukem.  Seven hundred posters were placed throughout town in the days leading up to the event.  The speaker was Pastor Steven Mayanja from Seguku Worship Centre near Kampala, UGANDA.  Steven and his wife Cissy have been dear friends of Owen and Charlene Baldwin for over 20 years. On Sunday afternoon, March 13th, approximately 350 people attended the service.  Many responded to the altar for salvation, healing, and renewal of commitment to the Lord.  We thank God that He is establishing this work on a strong foundation.
